We are actively involved in eliminating it every way
possible from our site and those who communicate with
us, using spam filters, careful web design practices,
and constant ongoing vigilance. Our choice of internet
service provider, web design software, and any and all
business services associated with this site are all made
with the goal of protecting your privacy from unwanted
communication.
We collect very little information about visitors to
our site.
For each visitor to our web page, our web server
automatically recognizes only the consumer's IP address.
This is the unique number that all servers on the
internet associate with your computer. Every computer on
the internet has one.
We collect only the IP address, but not the e-mail
address of visitors to our web page, the e-mail
addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail,
aggregate information on what pages consumers access or
visit (so we can build our website to accommodate the
most popular themes), user-specific information on what
pages consumers access or visit, and any information
volunteered by the visitor, such as survey information
and/or site registrations.
Any information we collect is used to improve the
content of our Web site. Example: we may look at overall
statistics that tell us more people visited one certain
page than any others, so we can devote more resources to
that page's theme on our site. However none of the
information we use is personally identifiable, unless a
visitor chooses to contact us through our secure e-mail
form.
We are careful about who we associate with online.
Any of our website visitors who are interested in
sourcing out the lighting fixtures we refer to on this
site may, by clicking on some links, be directed to one
or more of a select group of Light Fixture Magic's
carefully chosen merchant partners. These are known as
affiliates or associates, and we may receive commissions
as a result of a visitor eventually purchasing lighting
or other products at their websites.
We strive to work with partners whose website
technologies do not store anything at all on the
visitor's computer. LinkShare's technology for example,
keeps track of any click-throughs of web links entirely
on their own computers, not on a visitor's computer.
Some merchants however, do place a string of text called
a "cookie" on a visitor's computer for a limited period
of time, to track and attribute sales. If we feel the
merchant's offerings are among the best available for a
particular category and their privacy policy is
vigilant, we may direct our visitors to them.
Our choice of affiliates is based on attaining the most
value for our site's visitors, and providing for the
best visitor experience possible. We cannot be liable
for any affiliate's product or business issues, however.
